The Penn State Alumni AssociationWhat’s been happening: After graduating in 1993, I ended up in Northeast New Jersey for 12 or 13 years. I worked for several small but successful marketing and design firms (thebynegroup.com is still in business and very successful today). Got married in 1999, had my daughter Emma in 2000. Over the next few years freelancing part time, I went through a divorce and moved to Ridgewood NJ. I got a great job there working at Sonnenberg Haviland & Partners (shp-inc.com). Then, in 2005, after several years as a working single parent, decided to move back to my hometown in Pennsylvania. Today, I am self-employed as a freelance graphic designer working from home and it is working out wonderfully. My daughter is now 8 and will be entering 3rd grade this Fall. I am dating a wonderful man I've known since grade school (Bill D'Eletto). We reconnected about a year ago. He is a HUGE Penn State fan (even has a tattoo to prove it!). We've been to several football games and it's nice that he helps me stay connected to Penn State. I do have several friendships that began during my years at PSU and I value those tremendously! Other than working, keeping up with Emma's dancing schedule and other social activities, I spend time with Bill, his son Drew, my shih-poo Diva, friends and family, walking, biking, swimming, fishing, reading and volunteering. I feel very blessed where I am today. |
